Up for sale today is a 2012 GeoBlaster GB600 vapor / wet abrasive blasting machine. This blast pot was designed and manufactured by the legendary McIntyre family (https://blastallequipment.com/about-us/). These machines were developed to comply with changing health, safety, and environmental regulations. It is an improvement over dry abrasive / sandblasting as it uses less abrasive per hour and minimizes dust and particle exposure (by 92%) to both the operator and the surrounding public.
This fully functional unit has an upgraded Graco pump (7:1), new pressure gauges, relief valve, and door gasket. The only issue is the blasting pressure regulator knob which is loose in the control box (see photo), but still functions.The new owners will just need a new nut to put on the inside of the control box. It also features a 600 lbs capacity blast pot (that needs to be filled properly for the machine to properly pressurize), stainless steel control panel, simple metering controls, stainless steel frame / skid and a stainless steel 100 gallon water tank.
The abrasive blasting and surface preparation business is recession resistant as owners of equipment and materials are much more likely to spend the money on services to repair and recondition their equipment rather than buying new equipment. This Geo-Blaster is self contained and skid mounted so one could put it on a flatbed or trailer to offer mobile blasting services.
The new models from Graco and competitors like the Dustless Blasting company offer the same functionality and are over $30,000. One could be in business very easily with a couple hours of training, new hoses, a nozzle, and a rented compressor. Mobile blasting services charge more than $200 per hour when their services are contracted.
